Ranveer Singh is set to resume shooting for his zombie thriller ‘Pralay’, around five weeks after he and Deepika Padukone welcomed their second daughter. The plan is a short schedule of about two weeks in Mumbai.
A source told the publication that the current plan is for the actor to restart the shoot on that date. After the schedule, Singh is expected to take another break from the film. The revised timeline suggests short stints of work rather than an uninterrupted paternity break. Earlier reports had said Singh would shoot until Diwali, then pause, with the next major schedule expected in 2027. An Australia leg was also dropped, with the production moving to Mumbai.
Singh and Padukone announced the birth of their second daughter on September 19. They are also parents to Dua, who was born in September 2024.
‘Pralay’ is directed by Jai Mehta, who co-wrote it with Vishal Kapoor. The film imagines a dystopian Mumbai hit by a zombie outbreak, with a married couple fighting to survive. It marks the Hindi film debut of Malayalam actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore, making it the most expensive standalone project of Singh’s career.
The film is backed by Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios, Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal’s True Story Films and Singh’s own Maa Kasam Films. Details of the supporting cast, the full production schedule and a release date have not been announced.
